This is for the ongoing art-on-sunday challenge with Ian. I decided to forgo BBC and editorial illustration, because I'd been watching the special features disks on the lord of the rings extended editions which totally rekindled my love for background painting.

If you like cool things, check the DVDs out. Ignore the crowd pointing and laughing at your apparent nerdish tendencies because ohhhhhh man. MINIATURES.

So, I bought a melodica...

I paid 50 bucks for one of these bad boys, and Mr. Ryan Christiani lent me his classical guitar, so I've been all up in the music these days. My fingertips? IN PAIN.

Carrying on the music theme, I did a really quick illustration today based on this article. It's kicking off a challenge to stay productive over the summer put forth by Ian.

Grad show!





Amazing work, amazing people. I had no idea what a lot of the graduating students were producing, so I was pretty blown away by the level of quality and individuality all across the board. Big ups, class of '08, big ups.

As a side effect, I'm now ridiculously pumped for fourth year! Hopefully next year we can pull off something as good as this.

There was this, AMAZING freight elevator at the grad show venue, the Burroughes Building. I don't know how old the elevator is, but the building is over 100 years old.






And hey, we're moved now! There's still boxes of stuff EVERYWHERE, and I haven't been able to cook for the last few days, but at least everything is moved into the new place. We're now on the 7th floor!

Looking up

A good group of us got together on the last day of school and had a little bonfire in the ravine; it made me miss the mountains hideously.

The nice thing about Ontario, though, is that there's water and trees everywhere.
I like to walk down to the lakeshore once in a while, and this time around I brought my camera along. The weather was so beautiful that I'm pretty sure I had a goofy smile fixed to my face the entire way.
